LAS VEGAS – Two of DEVELON’s construction technology solutions are set to receive a CES Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show 2024 Exhibition, taking place January 9-12 in Las Vegas.

In the category of Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility, DEVELON is being recognized for their Smart Collision Mitigation (SCM) system with sensor fusion. SCM selectively detects people and objects in the surrounding 360 degrees of an excavator using both cameras and radar for sensor fusion and AI.

The SCM system uses three wide-angle radar sensors with a 180-degree horizontal field of view which, combined with at least four cameras, works to minimize blind spots and accurately detect objects and measure their distance. Upon detection, warning are activated and the machine’s speed is reduced.

DEVELON’s X-Agent system is set to receive honours in the category of Mobile Devices, Accessories & Apps. The X-Agent system is a technology-driven training platform for boosting skill and productivity in operators of excavators, wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks.

X-Agent’s AI function analyzes a number of variables including work plans and the status of the driver and equipment to map out an optimized route. Its remote control capabilities are also functional even in incomplete network environments (2G, 3G). Overall, X-Agent’s assistance can increase the productivity of unskilled workers by up to 30 per cent and reduce energy usage by roughly 15 per cent, according to DEVELON.
