Yanmar’s new additions to mini excavator line-up mean comfort for operators

The company released its next generation of equipment with the ViO80-7 and SV100-7. The latest updates to the machines include what Yanmar calls significant improvements to hydraulic efficiency, cab comfort and ease of maintenance.
Buck Storlie, Yanmar product manager, said the new machines were designed entirely with the operator and service departments in mind.
“From more comfort and enhanced ergonomics, to an open hood system that is incredibly efficient to work on, we’re confident operators will be thrilled with the new ViO80-7 and SV100-7’s performance and overall experience,” Storlie said.
Built for comfort and operator experience, operators will see the biggest differences from the previous models in the newly designed cabins. The upgraded space in each includes a new suspension seat, more foot space, ergonomic foot pedals and a wider cabin for easier entry and exit. Comfort also means included automatic air conditioning, a quieter cab and additional USB ports to charge devices.
Added comfort doesn’t mean a lack in performance. The 18,000 lb. ViO80-7 features 18 per cent more power over its predecessor with its new 67-horsepower Yanmar Tier 4 Final diesel engine. The 21,000 lb. SV100-7 includes a powerful 72-horsepower Yanmar Tier 4 Final diesel engine.
Both machines provide operators with increased attachment performance with 20 per cent more PTO flow rate. The ViO80-7 achieves a maximum dig depth of 14 feet three inches while the SV100-7 can reach 14 feet 11 inches.
With improved telematics on board both models, operators can see more relevant machine information on a seven-inch colour LCD display.
The largest in Yanmar’s line of mini excavators, the ViO80-7 and the SV100-7 are ideal for construction fleets, as well as other uses including utility, demolition and landscaping.
