Rush Lake highway bridge replacements to be completed by fall
July 6, 2023 By Rock to Road Staff
RUSH LAKE, Sask. – A replacement project on a pair of Highway 1 bridges, covering a stretch of the Herbert Canal west of Rush Lake, is to be completed by the fall, according to David Horth, director of communications of Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Highways.
The replacement project is being carried out by Harbuilt Construction, with a cost of roughly $6.3 million. Construction began in April of this year, with the bridges having reached the end of their lifespan.
This project follows a renewed effort to replace outdated bridge and culvert infrastructure across the province, with a set of five replacement projects initially announced in 2021.
