TUSCON, AZ – Granite has completed construction on its Swan aggregate plant in Arizona, marking the launch of the company’s first fully-automated aggregate plant.

Construction on the plant began in May 2023, with a design that leverages automation tools to curb both costs and the workforce shortages facing the industry, while also maintaining the steady production necessary to meet aggregate demand.

“This significant investment underscores our commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation within the materials industry,” the company’s senior vice president of materials, Brad Estes, said in a release. “The fully automated wash plant not only addresses current workforce challenges, but also positions us for sustained growth in one of our long-term aggregate markets. We are excited to unveil this state-of-the-art facility and further solidify our position as an aggregate producer.”
