COLUMBUS, IN – Cummins Inc. and Taylor Machine Works have signed a letter of intent announcing plans to integrate Cummins’ 6.7 and 15-liter hydrogen engines into Taylor’s product line.

Through the partnership, Cummins hopes to bring carbon-friendly solutions to Taylor’s heavy lift and material handling solutions for the concrete, port, oil and gas, steel and wood product sectors.

This announcement is part of Taylor’s overall “Beyond Clean Lifting” enterprise, a larger commitment to sustainable and carbon-friendly solutions across their entire product line. In addition to Cummins’ Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engines (H2ICE), this also includes battery electric trucks and hydrogen fuel cell trucks.

According to Cummins, H2ICE engines provide operators with benefits including reduced utility load, carbon emissions, maintenance and operating time at no cost to productivity.

“We see hydrogen internal combustion engines as a solution to help drive sustainability improvements in our industry,” said Anthony Leiato, Cummins’ vice president of off-highway engine business. “Hydrogen power will help both OEMs and end-users looking to making carbon emissions reductions on their paths to zero.”
