ASGA webinars to focus on industry changes to come

June 15, 2021  By Rock to Road Staff

The Alberta Sand and Gravel Association (ASGA) has opened registration for its upcoming Summer Webinar Series, which is free of charge for ASGA members. Each session of the three-part webinar series will begin at 10:00 a.m. MDT, and will run for 30 to 45 minutes, plus a period for questions and answers.

On June 25, members can attend the Environmental Permitting session, which will focus on the implementation of delisting risk assessment software (DRAS), municipal permitting duplication, and other issues related to permitting through Alberta Environment & Parks.

As the Community Aggregate Payment Levy (CAPL) program will be revised and renewed next year, the CAPL session, taking place on July 23, will  go over the ASGA’s advocated changes and the likelihood of these changes being implemented.

Finally, on August 27 members can join the Occupational Health & Safety session. Over the past two years, the ASGA has been working to get reforms for a safer and more efficient aggregate pit, and members will have the chance to see the potential changes to come.

Each webinar will feature a panel of experts who will discuss the changes to the three areas of aggregate operations. Each of these issues are set for significant policy changes over the next year and have had the involvement of the ASGA.
