Ammann announces Alpine Drum Mix plant for asphalt production
April 10, 2024 By Rock to Road Staff
ORLANDO, FL – Ammann has revealed a new counterflow drum mix plant, the Ammann Alpine Drum Mix, designed for high production output and high-capacity materials recycling ranging from 300 to 600 tons per hour.
The Alpine can be used for a range of operations including hot mix asphalt and recycled asphalt pavement mixes (up to 60 per cent), using a real-time tracking and analysis system to uphold mix quality. The plant employs a single drum, multi-zone drying and mixing systems and modular design components.
Storage silos for hot mix asphalt have a capacity of up to 300 tons and have been designed with expansion in mind, with a modular silo batcher arrangement available for retrofitted expansions.
The aggregate feed systems feature troughing feed belts, along with increased capacity through large bin openings. Material flow is optimized through steep and sloped bin walls, with this flow supported through variable frequency drives.
