WINDHAGEN, Germany – New models in Wirtgen’s line of Steumaster binding agent spreaders will now ship with a number of upgrades that look to drive quality in both results and the process of spreading operations.

Two filling connectors, fitted as standard equipment, have been added to the rear of the trailer spreaders, which give silo trucks increased proximity when filling the container of the machine, in addition to quickening the overall process.

The filling container has been redesigned with an improved high-speed pneumatic filling device for even filling at an enhanced speed of two tons per minute for each connector. An automatic filter system is also available for producers seeking dust-free filling.

The spreading process has also been updated for precision. Automatic volumetric dosing of the spreading quantity gives operators consistency in the binding agent’s discharge amounts, with the optional WeighTronic weighing device continuously comparing actual and target discharge values during the spreading process and adjusting accordingly.

Operators can choose between three different partial spreading widths, with the redesign also looking to curb their maintenance with self-cleaning dosing sluices.

Operational ease has been further considered in the redesign with the streamlining of all control units into a single control panel to give operators a customizable overview of machine functions. This includes a 12-inch touchscreen display and a split-screen view linked to a camera system.

Machines are also compatible with Wirtgen’s Performance Tracker to provide location-specific data and analysis.
