Three construction workers hurt in accident on Highway 101 in Nova Scotia

Three construction workers were injured on Highway 101 in Smith’s Cove, N.S., on July 11 after two cars collided.
According to the Digby RCMP detachment, police were notified of an accident at about 8:15 a.m.
Police, fire and EHS attended the scene and found that a car had been travelling on Highway 101 when it entered a construction zone and began slowing down.
The car was then struck from behind by an SUV that had been travelling in the same direction.
The collision also resulted in injury to three construction workers who had been working in the construction zone.
The driver of the SUV suffered injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries, was treated at the scene and released. Two construction workers suffered injuries and drove themselves to the hospital.
A third construction worker suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. They were later airlifted to hospital in Halifax by Lifeflight.
