January 10, 2014, Simcoe, Ont. – The initial group of
speakers, as well as the preliminary agenda, have been announced for the upcoming Rock to Road Tech Update.

January 10, 2014, Simcoe, Ont. – The initial group of
speakers, as well as the preliminary agenda, have been announced for the upcoming Rock to Road Tech Update.

The first annual Tech Update, Paving the Way to Greener Roads,
is a one day seminar focusing on practices, technologies and innovations that
are reducing the environment footprint of roadbuilding in Canada. The event
takes place on Wednesday, April 9th at the Best Western Brant Park
Inn in Brantford, Ont.

The agenda shows a full program running from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m., including seven seminar presentations, an industry panel discussion and a
keynote speech during lunch. There will also be time to visit the dealers that
will be at the event, as well as opportunities to network with attendees and
speakers.

Today’s announcement also includes information on the seven
speakers that will provide seminars throughout the day, as well as the subjects
that will be presented:

  • Quantifying the sustainable benefits of preserving pavement
    assets – Tom Kazmierowski, Senior Consultant at Golder Associates
  • How revisions to the Aggregate Resources Act could impact
    road building in Ontario – Moreen Miller, CEO of OSSGA
  • Research and development of sustainable pavements – Geoffrey
    West and Dan Pickel – CPATT
  • Creating green pavements starts at the plant – Dennis Hunt,
    Senior Vice-President, Gencor Industries
  • Infrared heating for green repairs – Bob Kieswetter,
    Co-Owner, Infrared Heating Repair Corp.
  • How cold asphalt is greening the roadbuilding industry –
    Richard Hoare, General Manager of EZ Street Canada
  • The green benefits of GPS technology – Mark Piotto/Dan
    Hendriks, Geoshack Canada

Early bird registration for the Rock to Road Tech Update is just $49 plus HST. There are also a
limited number of booths still available.
