Settlement talks stall DuPont mine expansion

But
unlike most industries where expansion is a sign that a business is
growing, for mining companies, like CalPortland, expansion is a
necessity. Without it, the company would run out of products.

While
many products CalPortland mines are part of day-to-day life — from
materials used in football stadiums to interstate roadways — there are
groups that fear the long-term environmental affects of mining.
