June 13, 2014, Saskatoon, Sask. – For the first time in
Saskatoon’s history, road construction and paving crews are out working during
nighttime hours.
According to a report from CBC news, work has been done to
re-pave stretches of College Drive and Circle Drive in the city. The new work
schedule, involving overnight paving, will be used on high-traffic streets when
feasible.
Overall, the city expects to service 178 kilometres of road
this season, and running 24-hour crews on some of those sites should guarantee
that the construction is completed on schedule.
