TORONTO – The Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) named Lisa Laronde, president of RSG International, to its board of directors last week at their 97th Annual Convention and Annual General Meeting.

RSG International is a leader in road and infrastructure safety, with Laronde being the first woman to lead the organization across its history. She also currently presides over the Canadian Association of Women in Constriction (CAWIC) and has recently been recognized among Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women.

Laronde expressed excitement at joining ORBA’s board of directors, and the responsibility that comes with currently being the only woman on the board.

“I believe this is an indication that the industry is changing,” said Laronde. “Although I might be the only woman on the board today, we must start somewhere. I have a voice, and I will use it. I think this is the beginning of something extraordinary.”

ORBA is also looking forward to the skills and perspective that Laronde is set to bring to their organization’s path forward.

“We are excited to welcome Lisa Laronde to ORBA’s Board of Directors, where she joins leaders of Ontario’s transportation infrastructure industry,” said Walid Abou-Hamde, the CEO of ORBA. “Lisa’s versatile skillset and experience will support the Association in implementing its strategic plan and advancing its members’ interests.”
