New owner of Ebel Quarries plans to expand operations

Polycor Inc., a company with quarries and manufacturing plants across North America and Europe, has big plans for its newly purchased Ebel Quarries Inc. near Wiarton, Ont.

The Quebec-based company plans to invest more than $1 million worth of quarrying and sawing equipment into the long-time family-run businesses this year, and Polycor plans to double Ebel Quarries’ business and add to its 30 employees by at least half within three years.

He and other company officials visited the Wiarton operations Thursday morning, where they shared news of the purchase with employees, all of whom Polycor would like to remain with the company. Eventually the Ebel name will change to Polycor Ontario.
