Mar. 2, 2012, Toronto – Some aggregate pits and quarries in the greater
Hamilton area achieved special recognition for excellence in various
aspects of their
operations, according to a report in the Hamilton Spectator.
Awards were presented last week at the annual general
meeting of the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA).
Capital Paving Inc. won a Progressive Rehabilitation Award for its
Wellington Pit in Puslinch, as did Lafarge Canada Inc. for its
Hagersville Quarry. Walker Aggregates Inc. was the recipient of a
Community Relations Award for its Vineland Quarries and Crushed Stone,
and Lafarge was also honoured with a Property Enhancement Award for the
Hagersville Quarry. The OSSGA represents more than 100 aggregate
producers in Ontario.
