Metso announces new diesel-electric equipment

TAMPERE, Finland — A new line-up of diesel-electric crushing and screening equipment is coming to Metso.

The company announced the Spring 2024 launch of its new Lokotrack EC range, highlighting its uniquely designed platform. The new lineup will be featured at a launch event at the Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland, on May 14-16, 2024.

The Lokotrack EC range line has been in development at Metso since 2020. The company says the new track-mounted hybrid equipment offers higher efficiency and lower emissions to offer customers a more sustainable choice.

The Lokotrack EC units contain a diesel-electric powerline. All process functions are electrically driven and controlled by automation, allowing the machine to work at the optimal load level.

Renaud Lapointe, senior vice president of Metso products business line in the aggregates business area, says the launch event for the new line-up – called Lokolaunch 2024 – will be more than just a way to introduce the new machines to market.

“Lokolaunch 2024 is more than just an event for customers and other key stakeholders. It signifies a demonstration of our commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability for the aggregates industry. We are excited to gather the industry’s key players to celebrate this great milestone with us,” he said.

The upcoming invitation-only launch event arranged is the fourth under the Lokolaunch name.
