Metso to expand automation, mobile equipment offerings with new acquisition

HELSINKI, Finland – Metso has signed an agreement to purchase UK-based Tedd Engineering, which specializes in automation, control systems and electrical solutions in mobile equipment for aggregates operations.

Tedd Engineering has been in operation for more than 30 years, with a current staff of roughly 70 employees. This acquisition builds on a previous relationship between the companies, with Tedd Engineering having been a supplier for Metso’s McCloskey brand over the past several years.

In a press release Metso’s president of aggregate business Markku Simula said he believes the acquisition will strengthen the company’s capability to utilize digitalization and automation technologies across their mobile equipment businesses and aftermarket presence.

According to Metso, the acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023.
