fred_urbanJune 10, 2014, Mississauga, Ont. – Fred Urban, former President and founder of Beka-Lube
Products Inc. and Beka-Max of America Inc., predeceased by his loving wife
Margaret, recently passed away at the age of 83.

After a successful career in sales, he learned about
automated lubrication systems. After investigating all the options, he started
Beka-Lube Products in Canada and became the exclusive distributor for BAIER +
KOPPEL products and technology in North America.

According to Jacquie McDougall, who joined the firm
in 2000, “My father believed in the product and wanted everyone to understand
what this could mean to their business in increased machine productivity and
reliability. If they weren’t totally satisfied with the increased performance,
he would take it back. He was all about customer service and
satisfaction.”

McDougall recalled that in the early days, not only
did he sell the product, install it, set up the distribution network and
translate all the manuals that he got from the factory but he was also
passionate about his family and there was always time for gatherings with
Margaret, their children Jacquie, Jane and Jon, and his grandchildren.

“He only wanted to provide technology that the industry
could rely on,” said McDougall. “Today, we follow his vision and measure our
success by our customers’ uptime.”

Donations in his name can be made to the Canadian
Heart and Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.com
