June 10, 2014, Toronto, Ont. – CSC is looking for aggregate operations
to participate in field testing of the revised CSC Standard and Assurance
System between August and September 2014.

Since consultation on our draft Standard
ended in early 2014, the Cornerstone Standards Council (CSC) has been hard at
work reviewing comments and making revisions to the Standard. We are also in
the process of building our Assurance System, which will ensure CSC's Standard
is implemented in a manner that is impartial, transparent, rigorous and
accessible to all.

Both CSC's revised Standard and
Assurance System will be shared broadly during a second consultation period in
summer 2014. At this time, CSC will undertake field testing at operations
ranging in size, type (pits and quarries) and stage of life. Your comments and
the results of the field test will be used in the preparation of CSC's final
Standard.

The field test will give companies,
stakeholders, auditors and CSC the opportunity to evaluate and test the
effectiveness of the Standard on the ground, determine site readiness for
certification, and assess the rigor and consistency of assessment methodology.

For details and to apply for the CSC
field test, please contact CSC's Director of Certification, Krista West at kwest@cornerstonestandards.ca,
613-986-2841 by June 30th,
2014.
