Hamm adds six new asphalt rollers to HD+ line

TIRSCHENREUTH, Germany – Hamm’s HD+ line of asphalt rollers has expanded, with new models that accommodate exhaust emissions categories and offer new forms of digital integration, including with Wirtgen’s own Easy Drive operating concept.

The HD+ 70 and HD+ 80 sizes are designed with operating weights of seven and eight tonnes, respectively, and meet the requirements for exhaust emissions in EPA Tier 3 markets. Both sizes are available as vibration, oscillation, or tandem roller machines. Despite their compact proportions, Hamm shared in a press release that these machines have equal driving and handling capabilities to their heavier counterparts.

This release also marks the integration of Wirtgen’s Easy Drive digital operating concept with the HD+ line. Easy Drive looks to leverage digitization to increase compaction quality, with digital interfaces that connect operators with telematics and fleet management systems, in addition to connectivity with the Smart Doc app for compaction control and documentation.

With this innovation, Hamm also announced that previously-released HD+ models, including the HD+ 70i and HD+ 80i, will begin to ship with Easy Drive capabilities integrated as a standard feature as well.
