WINDSOR, Ont. – The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is coming closer to a reality for communities on both sides of the Windsor-Detroit border, with the team offering insight into their progress at an event last week.

Heather Grondin, vice president of corporate affairs and external relations for the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, announced significant progress has been made on all four bridge components, with development having reached a point where communities can begin to envision what the completed project will look like.

Additionally, the Canadian project manager for Bridging North America, Jose Luis Mendez, announced that completion on the project’s Canadian tower is only a month and a half away.

The team provided these updates on the project at an event celebrating the fourth year of their annual community organization investment benefits plan bursary, which took place at the St. Elizabeth Foundation’s Journey Home Hospice on July 11.
