GRANISLE, B.C. – B.C.’s Fulton River Hatchery Bridge is set to be replaced with a two-span structure featuring improved highway alignment along the connecting Highway 118.

The original bridge was constructed in 1966 and is located eight kilometres south of Granisle. Enviro-Ex Contracting received the contract for the project, with construction of a 1.5-kilometre detour access road to commence this spring. The detour route will remain active until the project’s expected completion in fall 2026.

As part of this project, Enviro-Ex Contracting will also install active transportation features for pedestrians, including a median-separated sidewalk and dedicated footpath. Habitat enhancements to the local Fulton River and Fulton River Hatchery will also be provided.
