Creighton Valley’s new bridge looks to mitigate flooding
August 1, 2023 By Rock to Road Staff

LUMBY, B.C. – After 50 years of service, Creighton Valley’s Daly Bridge is being replaced with a new two-lane bridge that will feature higher elevations to reduce flooding and washout potential from Creighton Creek.
A contract of just under $4 million has been awarded to Copcan Civil Ltd. Partnership to carry out the replacement project.
The climate resilience featured in the replacement bridge will come from increased free-flow capacity, which will provide improved drainage in a flood-prone area.
The project will begin this summer and run through the fall, before being paused over the winter. Construction will resume in the spring with a targeted completion date of summer 2024.
