Walker Construction undertakes nearly 20 resurfacing projects across Owen Sound

(Photo credit: Adobe Stock) OWEN SOUND, Ont. – Niagara Falls’ Walker Construction is about to have their hands full this fall, with the general contracting company beginning work on 19 road resurfacing projects across the municipality of Owen Sound.
The resurfacing projects comprise a total of nearly 3,100 metres of road across the city. Despite the high volume of work, resurfacing is expected to be completed before the winter months, depending on the weather, according to city officials.
Work on these projects began on Sept. 18, with construction to occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.
The collection of resurfacing initiatives is part of a larger push by Owen Sound to improve roads and infrastructure. In 2023, roughly 60 per cent of their capital budget for the year was allocated toward road and transportation infrastructure projects.
