GREENSBORO, NC – Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) has appointed Matthew Blackman as regional vice president of the company’s Canadian division, effective Oct. 1.

With two decades of experience in the heavy equipment industry, Blackman has held a leadership role with Volvo Trucks Canada over the last two years as their director of parts sales.

This appointment follows the announcement that Volvo Trucks Canada’s current vice president, Paul Kudha, will be retiring at the end of the year. His retirement comes after 24 years with Volvo Trucks and 11 years at their Mack Trucks subsidiary.

In his new role, Blackman will report directly to Peter Voorhoeve, president of VTNA. In a press release, Voorhoeve expressed excitement over the skills and insight he believes Blackman will bring to the position.

We have full confidence in Matthew’s ability to lead the team in Canada to new heights of achievement,” said Voorhoeve. “At the same time, we want to thank Paul for his many years of service to Volvo and wish him and his family the best.”
