TORONTO – Next week’s Good Roads Conference, an annual event bringing together leaders from all levels of government across Ontario to discuss transportation infrastructure, is set to feature addresses from provincial leaders, including a fireside chat with Ontario Premier Doug Ford.

The 130th instalment of the event takes place from April 21 to 24 at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York, with Ford’s address scheduled for Tuesday, April 23 at 8:50 am. The event will also include appearances from Marit Stiles, Bonnie Crombie and Mike Schreiner, along with keynote addresses by renowned urban planner Jeff Speck and climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe.

These appearances make up the 80-plus sessions that the conference will feature for its more than 2,000 attendees. A full program of these sessions can be found here. In addition to these sessions, the conference will also feature a trade show component, with more than 120 booths showcasing from Sunday through Tuesday.

“This conference is the one time each year that leaders from the municipal sector, business and academia come together to chart a better way forward,” said Scott Butler, executive director of Good Roads. “At a time when Ontario municipalities are facing many complex and unprecedented challenges – climate change, outdated fiscal arrangements, a rapidly-evolving technical landscape – these discussions are increasingly important.”
