Power Pavers aim for a versatile, smoother ride with SF-3404 slipform paver
October 4, 2023 By Rock to Road Staff

CEDAR FALLS, IA —Power Pavers’ SF-3404 model is a new full width, four-track concrete slipform paver for roadbuilding operations.
The SF-3404 is capable of paving a maximum width of 40 ft., with telescoping endpans that provide two ft. of width flexibility on both ends of the machine. Additional features include a heavy-duty plow, rigid paving pans, and a slew built with durable materials.
Models also have the option to ship with a Dowel Bar Insertion (DBI) system included to improve slab insertion processes. The SF-3404’s DBI system uses a hydraulic floating floor equipped with electronic sensors to support reconsolidation following the insertion process and accurate crowning and bar placement.
A collision avoidance that runs alongside the DBI process is also included to prevent insertions at the same location.
In designing the SF-3404, Power Pavers aimed to deliver operators a smooth ride. To support this, the machine includes an oversized 30 in. by 24 in. oscillating correctional beam, vibrator cruise control and a crown-distance compensation feature for super-elevations and intersections.
