Landform Civil Infrastructure awarded contract for LaSalle Causeway upgrades

KINGSTON, ON – An $8.7 million contract to replace the bridge deck on the LaSalle Causeway’s bascule bridge has been given to Landform Civil Infrastructure.

The project, awarded by the Government of Canada, will include the replacement of the steel deck grating and supporting stingers, the rehabilitation of deteriorated concrete on the counterweight, and strengthening of the supporting steel truss components at the main trunnions. These repairs are estimated to extend the service life of the bridge by 15 years.

Construction is expected to begin in November 2023, with a targeted completion date of May 2025.
