Dufferin Construction Company named Ontario Asphalt Paver of the Year and Concrete Contract of the Year

Dufferin Construction Company has been named Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Asphalt Paver of the Year and Concrete Contract of the year.

The announcement was made during the Ontario Road Builders’ Association annual conference on Feb. 4 to 6 in Toronto.

Dufferin Construction Company won Asphalt Paver of the Year for its 400-metre work on Highway 7 in Omemee, east of Slanted Road to the west limit of the hamlet.

Dufferin Construction Company was named Concrete Contract of the Year for its work on Highway 400, from south of Dunlop Street to north of St. Vincent Street in Barrie.

The annual awards are judged on the following criteria:

  • Quality of the materials supplied
  • Workmanship
  • Visual appearance of the finished work
  • Innovations used

  • Highway 599 from 5.2 km North of the Kenora/Thunder Bay District boundary, Northerly for 27.3 km to Savant Lake CNR crossing, in Savant Lake

Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited 2023-4008

  • Highway 401, from 0.8 km West of Carman Road to 0.7 km East of Upper Canada Road, near Morrisburg

Concrete Contract of the Year Finalist

  • Highway 3, from 2.2km East of Malden Road Easterly to 0.8km West of Ellis Side Road, near the Town of Essex
