Walker Industries donates to two community projects

July 24, 2018  By Walker Industries

Walker Industries has a long tradition of giving back to the communities in which we live and work. We have recently committed $75,000 over the next five years to two important community projects in Niagara.

The Township of West Lincoln’s “Together…a Vibrant Tomorrow” campaign will benefit from Walker’s donation as funds will go toward the building of a new community recreation centre. The new community centre will be anchored by an arena and a branch library. Plans for the centre also include an indoor walking track, meeting rooms, playground, splash pad, skateboard park, and an urban forested area with a lighted pathway.

Also receiving a donation from Walker is the “Embrace Greatness” campaign. Funds raised in this campaign will go toward building the Fort Erie Centre for the Arts which will be adjacent to the newly constructed Greater Fort Erie Secondary School. The centre will be a showcase facility that will support students and the art community, draw visitors and be an important driver of economic activity for the town of Fort Erie.

“We are proud to be able to contribute to two very important community projects – both of which will have lasting benefits for years to come,” said John Fisher, president and CEO, Walker Industries.
