July 18, 2022  By The Whig

K. Mulrooney Trucking Ltd. is proposing a 43-hectare quarry on a set of industrial properties on McAdoo’s Lane in Kingston, Ont.

According to a presentation by the company to city officials, the quarry would be built on seven properties owned by the company or affiliated companies.

The current quarry on Battersea Road in South Frontenac is getting depleted, states the company president.

About 35 of the 43 hectares would be quarried down to a depth of between 35 and 40 metres.

In the life of the quarry, up to 25 million tonnes of aggregate would be mined from it.
