Two of Heidelberg Materials’ western Canada cement plants receive ENERGY STAR certification

IRVING, TX – Two of Heidelberg Materials North America’s cement plants, located in Edmonton and Delta, B.C., have received Natural Resource Canada’s (NRCan) ENERGY STAR industry certification.

The ENERGY STAR industry certification recognizes facilities that perform in the top quartile of similar facilities regarding energy-efficient processes.

This recognition is reflective of a larger overall initiative at Heidelberg Materials North America to place energy and emission efficiency at the forefront of their practices, including the implementation of energy optimization programs across all its business lines.

“We are pleased to accept the ENERGY STAR for Industry Certification in recognition of our energy efficiency efforts at our Edmonton and Delta cement plants in Canada,” said Oliver Patsch, President of Heidelberg Materials North America’s northwest region. “Energy efficiency is a key part of our commitment to operational excellence, and also helps lower our overall environmental footprint.”
