Saskatchewan looks at automated flaggers

May 16, 2016  By  Andrew Macklin

May 16, 2016 – The Government of Saskatchewan is investigating the possibility of introducing Automated Flagger Assisted Devices (AFAD) at road construction sites across the province.

According to a story from Global News, Potzus Paving & Road Maintenance adopted the use of two AFADs on sites in the province following a construction zone incident that seriously injured one of its workers.

The effectiveness of the AFADs introduced by Potzus in August of 2015 got the attention of the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, who is now looking at using the technology throughout the province.
