MONTREAL – CarbiCrete, a Montreal-based developer of decarbonized concrete and emission-eliminating processing solutions, has appointed Jacob Homiller to the role of CEO.

Homiller brings 25 years of experience across several global industrial companies including the A.W. Chesterton Company and Cabot Corporation, most recently holding the role of president and CEO for high-performance metals company H.C. Starck Solutions.

CarbiCrete’s decarbonized concrete is produced through a process that eliminates cement-related emissions including carbon dioxide. The company’s technology is currently commercially sold in Quebec by Patio Drummond, with CarbiCrete working toward commercializing its product across North America and Europe.

Chris Stern, founder and outgoing CEO of CarbiCrete, will remain with the organization in a strategic advisor role. Under Stern, the company grew from seven to 55 employees and was recognized on the Global Cleantech 100 list in 2020 and 2022. In a LinkedIn post last week week, Stern said he believes Homiller “will take CarbiCrete to the next level.”
