Metso’s Canadian sales rise in 2012

2013 – Sales of Metso’s product lines increased in 2012, according to
data released in the company’s annual report this week. Canada retained its
position as the 8th largest importer of Metso products, according to
net sales data that was released in the report.

position as the 8th largest importer of Metso products, according to
net sales data that was released in the report.

In 2011,
Canada ranked 8th in net sales at $272 million EUR. Canada remained
8th in 2012 despite a 7 percent jump in net sales value to $291
million EUR. The United States remained as the number one importer of Metso
products in net sales, followed by Brazil, China, Sweden, Australia, Finland
and Russia. Canada also moved up one spot from 9th to 8th
in total value of orders received in 2012, increasing from $280 million EUR in
2011 to $290 million EUR in 2012.

Overall,
Metso posted solid gains despite significant losses in some markets. Metso had
their second highest EBITA in company history in 2012 at $684 million EUR. The
company also experienced an 11% gain in services net sales, as well as a 13%
growth in net sales. In total, Metso received global orders valued at $3,264
million EUR. The gains came despite net sales losses in China, Germany and
India, along with order value losses in the U.S., Brazil, Finland and Australia.
