Hewitt will now include Metso quarry equipment for their crushing and screening customers.

MetsoJune 10, 2010 – Effective June 1, 2010, Metso has announced an
expansion of their distribution agreement with the Hewitt Equipment
Limited.

June 10, 2010 – Effective June 1, 2010, Metso has announced an expansion of their distribution agreement with the Hewitt Equipment Limited. Since 2008, Hewitt has been Metso’s distributor for contractor/recycling mobile crushing and screening equipment in the provinces of Quebec and Western Labrador. Under this new agreement, Hewitt will also represent Metso’s stationary and mobile crushing and screening equipment for quarries in its assigned territory. This is part of Metso’s ongoing efforts to provide customers with the best sales and service support in the industry.

Founded by Robert Hewitt in 1952, Hewitt Equipment Limited has a long history in construction and aggregates production. Hewitt sells, rents and services the full line of Caterpillar products. With headquarters in Pointe-Claire and 14 branches throughout Quebec, Hewitt supplies equipment, parts and service to the construction, mining, forestry, agricultural, material handling and transportation industries.

According to Jim Hewitt, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hewitt Equipment, the Metso quarry line is an excellent addition to the Company’s existing products and service. “This agreement increases the value we can bring to our customers,” he said. “We will be reaching a wider range of applications, and providing our customers with the best rock-processing equipment on the market today. We’ve demonstrated our commitment by investing in an extensive inventory of Metso parts, and by ensuring that our technicians are Metso trained and certified.”  Atlantic Tractors & Equipment Limited, Hewitt Equipment’s subsidiary in the Maritimes also carries both Metso’s stationary and mobile crushing and screening equipment in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Adrian Quigg, Metso Vice President, Distribution Sales Americas, USA & Canada, expressed his satisfaction with this new agreement. “I am very pleased that Hewitt Equipment Limited now carries our complete line of crushing and screening equipment,” he said. “We want to provide our customers with the highest level of quality and support possible, and Hewitt shares our commitment to that goal.”
