Manitoba seeks input on North Perimeter Highway overhaul
January 16, 2024 By Rock to Road Staff
WINNIPEG – The Manitoba government is asking local residents for input on the proposed options for upgrading Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) 101, also known as the North Perimeter Highway, to meet freeway standards.
An online survey is available for the public, asking them for feedback on the options presented by a functional design study conducted in 2022 on the ways to upgrade PTH 101 into a “fully access-controlled, grade-separated freeway that can ultimately accommodate six lanes and improve highway safety,” according to a release.
The survey includes the drawings for alignments across five separate segments of PTH 101 and is available to the public until Jan. 24. Once responses have been collected, a report summarizing the feedback will be published on the EngageMB website.
This round of public input is set to be followed with another in fall 2024, which will incorporate the feedback received in the current round and present options for the project through stakeholder meetings and open houses.
