Grande Prairie kicks off construction season with resurfacing project

GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. –The City of Grande Prairie kicks off its season of extensive road rebuilding this week, with the first of five major projects beginning with the resurfacing of 102 Street between 97 Avenue and 104 Avenue.

This initial resurfacing project is expected to reach completion by early June, with crews then moving into the Richmond Industrial area to complete work on four different projects.

These projects will involve roadway asphalt milling, concrete work, bridge deck waterproofing, asphalt overlay paving and more, and will be conducted on the four following stretches:

• 115 Street between 95 Avenue and 97 Avenue
• 95 Avenue between 113 Street and 116 Street
• 96 Avenue between 113 Street and 115 Street
• 113 Street between 95 Avenue and 97 Avenue

Work will occur Monday to Saturday, weather permitting, with one-lane alternating traffic implemented while construction is underway.
