largest global manufacturers of construction equipment are reporting positive
growth in North American sales in their Q1 financial reports for 2014.
April 28, 2014, Peoria, Ill./Shippensberg, Pa. – Two of the
largest global manufacturers of construction equipment are reporting positive
growth in North American sales in their Q1 financial reports for 2014.
Volvo Construction Equipment saw a 21 per cent increase in
sales in the first quarter of 2014 over the same quarter last year, equaling an
increase of $410 million Swedish Krona. Overall, Volvo saw a global increase of
10 per cent.
Caterpillar beat Wall Street estimates by posting a first
quarter profit increase of 4.8 per cent. The positive results came as strong
construction equipment sales offset losses in the mining sector. The North
American market saw an increase of six per cent, with a 15 per cent increase in
North American revenue.
