With the COVID-19 pandemic hitting India hard, a tire manufacturer is thanking its customers from around the world for their concern.
India-based BKT acknowledged that it’s a “hard time” in the country right now.
More than 23.3 million people have contracted the virus, according to stats from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. More than 250,000 people have died as a result, and many experts think that number is underreported.
On May 11, more than 348,000 new cases were reported and an additional 4,200 deaths.
BKT said it is “thankful that so many are in contact and are worrying about people’s health and safety.”
“BKT wants to reassure all of them that, fortunately, BKT teams in India and around the world are safe and giving their best to keep the business at the normal levels,” it said in a press release.
It has taken steps to ensure worker safety and to avoid the spread of the virus in its production plants.
“Because of this timely intervention, BKT’s five production plants in India have been running smoothly with average 95 per cent capacity,” it said.
