November 27, 2017 – The world’s largest annual event for concrete and masonry professionals returns to the Las Vegas Convention Center from Jan. 22 to 26, 2018. The show features approximately 1,500 exhibitors and more than 150 educational sessions; and draws about 55,000 attendees to the City of Lights annually.

To learn more about some of the latest products that will be on display, Rock to Road reached out to some of the exhibitors for the upcoming show.

Here’s a small sample of what you’ll see on display at WOC 2018.

Trimble’s TrimFleet provides real-time vehicle telematics for ready mix and aggregate fleets. Features include: TrimView Office Suite: data processing software for improved productivity and communication from plant to jobsite; TMT Fleet Maintenance Software: improved scheduling and inventory; TrimFleet Mobile Connect: tethered to the TVG850 for auto-statusing, messaging, navigation, delivery information and voice communication; TrimFleet Mobile VIA:  messaging, navigation, manual statusing and delivery information; TrimView Direct: Real-time visual data; DriveSafe: monitors driving maneouvres assisting with driver safety programs; TrimFuel: insight to fuel consumption of ready mix vehicles. Integration with TrimView measures fuel use, idle time and fuel efficiency; and V-Sight Diagnostics: vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Viewpoint will showcase its Office, Team, and Field suite of construction software and technologies at the 2018 World of Concrete. Powerful accounting, financial management and office operations software and functionality is integrated with web-based, collaborative project and document management solutions and intuitive mobile solutions to work and capture data in the field. The result is true, efficient collaboration throughout the entire organization and project teams. Stop by booths C3302 and C3308 for a first-hand look.

John Deere
John Deere SmartGrade is now available on the 650K crawler dozer, joining the 700K, 750K and 850K models equipped with the technology. The integrated Topcon 3D-MC2 Grade Control System improves job site accuracy and work quality — delivering precise grading performance while eliminating vulnerable external masts and cables. The 650K SmartGrade boasts a 104 hp (78 kW) EPA Final Tier 4 John Deere engine. The model’s cab-forward designs make visibility, safety, and precise grading a priority. Exclusive Total Machine Control comes standard with this model. Since SmartGrade is integrated into the machines, it removes the need to install blade-mounted sensors and components daily, reducing setup time and allowing operators to get to work. Eliminating external cables to the masts reduces breakage, and the removal of the masts from the blade eliminates vulnerability to damage and theft. The Auto SmartGrade feature identifies the soil type and easily adjusts the machine to new terrain, without operators having to adjust the blades manually.

E-Z Drill
E-Z Drill’s dust collection systems have met the new OSHA Table 1 requirements for more than 15 years. The vacuum system uses the same air compressor as the concrete dowel drill to effectively collect dust directly from the drilled holes and store it in a collector. The Dust Collection System can be used with all E-Z Drill models with minimal additional air requirements – just 40 to 160 cfm, depending on the model.

Aquajet Systems
Aquajet Systems AB introduces the world’s smallest hydrodemolition robot, the Aqua Cutter 410V. The 410V’s design makes it suitable for a wide variety of concrete removal tasks, such as renovation and bridge and road repair. The 2,756-lb. Aqua Cutter 410V uses 15,000- to 40,000-psi water jets to efficiently remove as much as 9 cu. ft. per hour of concrete. Operators can control the 410V from a safe distance using the unit’s radio remote control, either wirelessly or with a hard wire. Aqua Cutter robots feature unique ceramic nozzles specifically designed for demanding hydrodemolition applications. The nozzles last 300 to 350 hours, depending on the water quality.

B2W Software
B2W Software will highlight B2W Schedule at World of Concrete. The new solution allows heavy civil contractors to centralize resource scheduling and dispatching functions, move them online and achieve the real-time collaboration necessary to keep projects on schedule and on budget. The comprehensive tool enhances B2W Software’s ONE Platform, which also includes unified elements for estimating, field tracking, equipment maintenance and data capture and analysis.

Doosan Construction Equipment
Doosan will showcase its DX140LCR-5 crawler excavator with an optional quick coupler and a Doosan hydraulic breaker. The machine on display will be configured with optional, triple grouser rubber track pads. The DX140LCR-5 is a 14-metric-ton excavator and offers a shorter tail swing than conventional crawler excavators. The reduced-tail-swing DX140LCR-5 allows operators greater flexibility where space is a premium without sacrificing performance. The crawler excavator has a net horsepower of 113.3 hp; an operating weight of 34,987 lb.; maximum digging reach (ground) of 27 ft. 11 in.; maximum digging depth of 19 ft. 7 in.; maximum loading height of 23 ft. 2 in.; arm digging force of 13,228 lb.; and a bucket digging force of 24,471 lb.

Leica Geosystems
Eliminate guesswork, reduce risk, increase worker safety and maximize efficiency – it’s all possible when you have immediate access to accurate measurement and machine control data across every jobsite. From smart sensors and software, to an intelligent cloud-based system that creates a collaborative, real-time environment, to experienced service and support, Leica Geosystems provides seamless solutions from dirt to finished road (Booth C5363)

Terex Bid-Well
The Terex Bid-Well 3600 paver offers a range of standard paving width configurations from 8 to 86 ft. and on-the-fly paving widths changes of up to 30 ft., so it quickly adapts to the contractor’s concrete bridge deck placement and slab-on-grade paving needs. At World of Concrete 2018, Terex Bid-Well (Booth C5172) will highlight the latest machine features and options that make it one of the most flexible automatic roller pavers on the market. This includes updates to the available sidewalk roller attachment and command centre remote control for machine operation.

At Booth C4149, HCSS will feature its recently released eLogs electronic logging solution. Available for both Android and iOS systems, HCSS eLogs electronically tracks a driver’s hours of service, automates driving events based on vehicle movements and features Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) connectivity.
HCSS will also discuss the latest updates to its HCSS Safety solution.
