killed in an industrial accident involving conveying equipment in rural
Manitoba.
According the report from the Winnipeg Free Press, the RCMP
received a call shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday. The worker had become caught
in a machine and was officially pronounced dead when EMS arrived on the scene.
The worker was on the night shift at Clint Moffat and Sons
Ltd., working with three other staff at a site in the Regional Municipality of
Whitehead.
The Winnipeg Free Press reported that the worker was caught
in a Telestacker Conveyor, a brand currently used by Superior Industries.
However, Rock to Road has been informed that the worker was caught in a
telescopic radial stacker conveyor and not in the Superior-branded machine.
According to a company official, the conveying equipment was working properly at the time of the accident.
