Turnkey Plant Construction
Superior’s construction management team recently completed a new turnkey automated plant and barge loadout system that tripled the production and loadout capacities for British Columbia-based Mainland Construction Materials.
The facility is a 400-acre granite quarry with mine-duty equipment that includes five crushers, five screen decks, and 42 conveyors. Two Superior P400 Patriot® Cone Crushers comprise the tertiary crushing circuit for the processing of asphalt specification products. Mainland chose them for their ability to produce a better particle shape, as well as for their configuration for easy access to maintenance and liner changes.
Designed for greater cost-efficiency, the Mainland plant is customized with beefed-up chutes, transfer points, and wear areas to withstand the hard rock and high silica content.
“Because Superior develops and manufactures both conveyor systems and conveyor components, our engineers are continually innovating component design for extended wear life, greater belt protection, and safe high-capacity performance. Our component technologies, combined with our knowledge of how best to design material transfer points, allows us to build the cleanest, most cost-efficient plants,” says Garrison.
