Used earthmoving equipment prices climb in Canada: Ritchie Bros. report
September 20, 2021 By Rock to Road Staff
Prices for used earthmoving equipment have jumped significantly across North America, says the latest monthly trends report by equipment dealer Ritchie Bros.
The September Market Trends Report indicates prices have increased across all of the company’s equipment indexes. In Canada, prices for large earthmoving equipment are up eight per cent over the three months ending Aug. 31; in the U.S., they’re up 10 per cent.
Over the same period, prices for medium earthmoving equipment have increased 28 per cent in Canada and 38 per cent in the U.S.
A decline in volume due to high usage and OEM production delays, coupled with high demand, have resulted in higher returns for Ritchie Bros. consignors, the company says in a statement.
The Market Trends report is part of Ritchie Bros. Asset Solutions, a cloud-based asset management system. The full September report is now available for download from Ritchie Bros.
