Terex Materials Processing (MP), specialized in materials processing equipment, has purchased a new facility located in Jiading District, Shanghai, China, which will be used to manufacture Powerscreen equipment for the domestic China market.

With the new 18,000 m2 facility, Powerscreen, a provider of mobile crushing and screening equipment for quarrying, construction, and other applications, can commence production in China, and will accelerate manufacturing plans by approximately two years.

With a dedicated team from Northern Ireland to ensure processes are kept up to the Powerscreen manufacturing standards, work is already underway with Powerscreen’s equipment onsite for the training of the China team. The first locally-produced machines are projected to be released before the end of 2021.

“Mobile crushing and screening equipment play a basic, yet vital, role in the sustainable building of infrastructure,” said Kieran Hegarty, president of Terex MP. “This facility will accelerate our manufacturing plans for China and will enable us to assist commercial ventures in China with the right equipment, carrying the Powerscreen name, built by a local team, and sold through an enhanced distribution network.”
