April 11, 2016 – The Government of Canada has announced an additional $27 million for extensive rehabilitation work along portions of the Trans-Canada Highway within Terra Nova National Park.

The investment will be used to construct climbing and passing lanes, in each direction, at 13 locations throughout the 42.2 kilometres of the Trans-Canada Highway within Terra Nova National Park. As part of this project, work will include roadside brush clearing, widening of the road bed, the installation of guardrails and culvert extensions, as well as intersection improvements.

Construction of these passing lanes should take place over two years, in 2016 and 2017.
