November 28, 2014, Sudbury, Ont. – A perfect storm of poor
weather conditions has contractors in and around Sudbury glad that the 2014
road construction season has come to an end.
According to a report from the CBC, the weather difficulties
started in the spring with a deep frost, continued with a wet summer, and ended
with an early start to winter, causing one of the most difficult road
construction seasons in the city’s history.
The city experienced a summer that saw no more than eight
consecutive days without rain according to officials from the Ontario Road Builders’
Association.
Some work is still wrapping up, but most completion work
already scheduled for the spring of 2015.
