April 10, 2015 – Road construction work is set to begin next
month of the $71.1 million interchange at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.

month of the $71.1 million interchange at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.

 

According to a report from the CBC, the interchange at the
Trans-Canada Highway and Bowfort Road in the northwest of Calgary is currently
over-capacity and in need of significant work.

The project, which will eliminate the street-level
intersection, is being sent to tender now with the expectation that shovels
will be in the ground next month. The completion date for the project is set
for the summer of 2017.

 

A six-lane detour roadway will be in place during the
adjacent to and north of the highway during 12 months of the construction
period.
