March 16, 2017—Trimble and K-Tec Earthmovers Inc. have announced the introduction of a Trimble Ready factory option for K-Tec Scrapers. Scrapers that ship from the factory are now ready to install the Trimble GCS900 2D or 3D Grade Control System, which can significantly reduce the cost for the contractor. The Trimble Ready K-Tec Scraper includes an enhanced joystick, a computer software upgrade, wiring harnesses and brackets, allowing a more seamless installation.

With the billions spent on road construction and repairs each year, it has become a matter of urgency to find new technologies that can ensure the integrity of asphalt on newly paved roads. New radio wave technology is now available to non-destructively determine asphalt density during application.

February 26, 2016 - A common gravel road repair and road building approach is to remove oversize rocks and bury subgrade problems, such as potholes or protruding rock, under additional gravel. But this “band aid” approach, which does not deal with underlying problems, is costly. It can require hauling in 200-300 per cent more material than truly necessary to resurface a gravel road, only to have the problems resurface.
