September 13, 2017 - Construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge over the Detroit River at Windsor is on track to begin in 2018, as originally promised, according to Michael Cautillo, president and CEO of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) that is managing the project.
September 7, 2017 - The Progressive Contractors Association of Canada (PCA) is disappointed by the B.C. government’s decision to rethink plans to replace the George Massey Tunnel with a 10-lane bridge.
August 24, 2017 - Today two First Nations Leaders predicted that the recent road projects for the Ring of Fire announced by the Wynne Government would hit a dead end without real and concrete jurisdiction agreement with First Nations. The leadership of Eabametoong and Neskantaga First Nations gathered today to affirm their longstanding relationship and considered the premature announcements by the Wynne Government regarding potential roads to the Ring of Fire area. The proposed roads to the Noront project cross the rivers and lands of Neskantaga and Eabametoong.
August 23, 2017 - The second and final construction contract for the McKenzie interchange project has now been awarded for the remaining work that involves lowering the Trans-Canada Highway, constructing the ramps, overpass, and new pedestrian-cyclist bridge over the highway, and the final landscaping.
August 21, 2017 - Ontario is taking an important next step toward developing the Ring of Fire, working with Webequie, Marten Falls and Nibinamik First Nations to plan and construct a year-round access road into the proposed mining development site being pursued by Noront Resources Ltd. As part of this project, the province is also working with First Nations to build all-season access roads to their communities.
August 10, 2017 - Ontario is widening 1.6 kilometres of Highway 26 from Sixth Line to Pretty River Parkway to reduce congestion and improve road safety in Collingwood.
