September 7, 2017 - The Progressive Contractors Association of Canada (PCA) is disappointed by the B.C. government’s decision to rethink plans to replace the George Massey Tunnel with a 10-lane bridge.
August 24, 2017 - Today two First Nations Leaders predicted that the recent road projects for the Ring of Fire announced by the Wynne Government would hit a dead end without real and concrete jurisdiction agreement with First Nations. The leadership of Eabametoong and Neskantaga First Nations gathered today to affirm their longstanding relationship and considered the premature announcements by the Wynne Government regarding potential roads to the Ring of Fire area. The proposed roads to the Noront project cross the rivers and lands of Neskantaga and Eabametoong.
August 23, 2017 - The second and final construction contract for the McKenzie interchange project has now been awarded for the remaining work that involves lowering the Trans-Canada Highway, constructing the ramps, overpass, and new pedestrian-cyclist bridge over the highway, and the final landscaping.
August 21, 2017 - Ontario is taking an important next step toward developing the Ring of Fire, working with Webequie, Marten Falls and Nibinamik First Nations to plan and construct a year-round access road into the proposed mining development site being pursued by Noront Resources Ltd. As part of this project, the province is also working with First Nations to build all-season access roads to their communities.
August 10, 2017 - Ontario is widening 1.6 kilometres of Highway 26 from Sixth Line to Pretty River Parkway to reduce congestion and improve road safety in Collingwood.
August 9, 2017 - The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has awarded a $3.7-million contract to Tybo Contracting Ltd. to carry out the Rosedale Overhead seismic upgrade, along with cycling and pedestrian improvements to the crossing.
August 8, 2017 - Construction is getting underway on new passing lanes on B.C. Highway 5 between Barriere and Little Fort, near Darfield, improving safety along this stretch of the Yellowhead Highway north of Kamloops.
August 2, 2017 - The Manitoba government has issued a request for proposals for an engineering consultant to conduct a functional design study to rebuild the south Perimeter Highway, Infrastructure Minister Blaine Pedersen announced on Aug. 1.
July 24, 2017 - Over the course of several months last year, a barge moved over 100,000 tonnes of aggregate, asphalt and construction materials from a PortsToronto staging yard to a temporary dock located at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, situated on an island just off downtown Toronto. The barge was back this summer for three more months, as well as in 2018 for four months.
July 24, 2017 - While one ring road in Alberta recently cut the ribbon on completion, construction is rapidly gearing up for the first stages of another ring road project that will help transform the transportation landscape surrounding Calgary.
July 5, 2017 - On June 23, the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan agreed to a US$48-million settlement for land that will be needed for part of the construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.
June 30, 2017 - The Shoal Lake No. 40 First Nation's Freedom Road project in Shoal Lake No. 40 has received a $20-million commitment from the Government of Canada that will go towards all phases of construction for the project.
May 3, 2017 - Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) and its partners are kicking off the 2017 construction season with Phase Two of the preparatory activities at the Canadian Port of Entry (POE). Three contracts have been awarded for high voltage cabling and accessories, transmission and distribution line relocation works totalling approximately $86 million.

April 19, 2017 - A project to resurface Highway 16 from West Twin Creek to Bell Mountain Road has gone to tender, announced MLA for Prince George-Valemount Shirley Bond, on behalf of Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone.
